INNOVATIVE LESSON TEMPLATE(semester-4)

INNOVATIVE LESSON TEMPLATE

PRELIMINARY DETAILS

Name of the teacher trainee:  Noopura Daniel.d.u                 Std: viii
Name of the school             : Govt.K.P.H.S Kazhivoor          Duration: 45mts
Subject                               : social science                             Str: 24/28
Unit                                     : In search of earth’s secrets
Content                               : Rocks
Learning Objectives           : 1) students will be able to know about
                                                              different Types of rocks

2)Students will be able to compare three
                                                                Type of rocks
Content Analysis             : Based on the mode of formation, rocks can be
                                                    Classified into three-igneous, sedimentary, and
                                          Metamorphic.

Content                               : Igneous rocks, Sedimentary rocks,
                                           Metamorphic rocks
Facts                                : 1) Igneous rocks are formed by the
         molten rock material rising
through the fissures in the crust
           and solidifying either on the
surface of the Earth or within the crust itself

: 2) Rocks undergo weathering in
course of time. The debris so
formed will be deposited in the
    low regions as layers. These
            materials gradually get lithified
       and transformed into
    sedimentary rocks.

: 3) When rocks undergo physical
                      and chemical changes due to
                           high temperature and    pressure
                        metamorphic rocks are formed

CONTENT                               : Igneous rock, sedimentary rocks,
metamorphic rocks this are three types of rocks

Pre- requisites                         : pupil heard about rock
Teaching learning materials  :   1) rocks
                                                2) Chart
                                                3) Flash card
                                                4) Video
                                                5) Modal
Class room interaction procedure
Pupil response
Introduction

Teacher show some rocks and ask some questions to the student
·        What is this?
·        Did you see this type of rocks any where?
·        All rocks of the rocks are same?
·        What is the reason?
Then teacher entered topic rocks

Presentation

The lithosphere acquires its name from the material with which it is made ('lithos' means rock). If you look around you can see rocks of different colours and hardness. This diversity is due to its constituents. The constituents of rocks are called minerals. More than two thousand minerals such as silica, mica, hematite, bauxite, etc have been identified on earth. Based on the mode of formation, rocks can be classified into three-igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic.

ACTIVITY -3

The teacher showing a video. Then teacher divided in to three groups  Children’s carefully in class, Teacher gives learners a task to communicate knowledge watching the video and understanding in the following way

 GROUP-1
Teacher ask the students to write about  Igneous rocks

GROUP-2
Teacher ask the students to write about  Sedimentary rocks
GROUP-3
Teacher ask the students to write about Metamorphic rocks
Then teacher give the opportunity to the students to present their answer and teacher conclude it with help of chart.

ACTIVITY-2
The teacher shows image of Rock Cycle and show a modal .Then teacher ask the students to observe the modal and image then writ about it.
Then teacher give the opportunity to the students to present their answer and teacher conclude it with help of chart.

students answer the question

Students listen carefully

Students write the answer

Students present the answer

Students write the answer

Students present the answer

REVIEW QUESTIONS
1.     What are rocks?
2.     How much type of rocks?
3.     Which are they?
4.     What is Igneous rocks?
5.     What is sedimentary rocks?
6.     What is metamorphic rocks?
Follow up activity
Collect pictures of igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rock from the internet and prepare digital alum on different type of rocks?
